2011 Teacher Training and Japanese Studies Programs

The Japan Information and Culture Center (JICC), Embassy of Japan, is now accepting applications for the following categories of the Japanese Government Scholarships for the year 2011:

1. Teacher Training
 

Requirements

•Teaching at elementary or secondary educational institution or academic staff in a teacher training school (College professors are not eligible).
• At least 5 years teaching experience, and
• Good academic standing.

Age Under 35 yrs old
Yrs. 1.5
Field of Study Education management, methods of education, special subjects, observation study, etc.

2. Japanese Studies
 

Requirements

 

• Majoring in fields related to the Japanese language or culture in universities.
• Enough knowledge of the Japanese language, and
• Good academic standing.

Age 18 to 29 years old
Yrs. 1
Field of Study Japanese language, life & culture, etc.

These scholarships are open to all Filipino citizens satisfying the above requirements and age. Application forms may be downloaded from the Embassy Website: (www.ph.emb-japan.go.jp), “Culture and Education” section. The deadline for submission of applications is on February 25, 2011 (Friday).

The selection process is composed of several stages, such as document screening, written examinations & interview screening.

Free scholarship consultations are also held at the library of the Embassy of Japan every Friday at 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM and 2:00-4:30 PM. Interested individuals are requested to bring a valid ID to enter the embassy premises.
