Can someone help me..My dad is a Japanese citizen. He was married to my mom for 20 years. My father died in Japan a year ago without us knowing what really happened. My grandmother doesn't want us to go there because she keeps on insisting that we will never get any money from my dad because as far as I know, a children of Japanese national can get support from the government. The problem is we, together with my two siblings are not registered in Japan. I really don't know what is it all about but they are saying that if we are not registered, we can never be considered as legitimate children. I really don't care about the money, I just want to get my dad's ash. Can someone tell me what to do..thank you to anyone who can help me..i really need your help.

Hi Eunis. have you tried

Hi Eunis. have you tried consulting with the embassy of Japan in Manila? If you have pictures of you or your Mom together with your Dad, and documents like letters that can prove your relation to him, I think it would help your case.
