○ With the current measured [radiation] level, drinking tap water is safe for everyone except for infants.
○ If not taken for a long period, it is also safe even for infants aged less than one year. But as an emergency response, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government will provide 240,000 550ml bottles of water to families that need pet bottles [drinking water] in the concerned cities (23 wards, Musashino, Mitaka, Machida, Tama, Inagi). We will start transporting [the pet bottles] to the concerned cities on March 24 (Thursday) morning.
○ Distribution is limited to families with babies under one year old. Distribution in each city will be implemented starting tomorrow as soon as preparations are completed.
○ We are also preparing for additional distribution.
○ Water test results will be published daily for the time being.
○ We are requesting the industry to increase production of PET bottles.
